It is not uncommon for certain factory brake controllers to have issues with electric over hydraulic brakes. This would be the first we have heard of this issue with a 2023 Ford F-350, but it is possible that the brake controller in your ford is simply not compatible with electric over hydraulic brakes. There may be an adapter module available depending on what brand of actuator you have on your trailer so that is one option. If you can tell me the make and model of your actuator I can see if we have a compatible adapter.

With some of the newer controllers, the manufacturer can actually send software updates to the controller. So it may be worth checking with Ford to see if an update is required in order to operate EOH brakes.

Another potential option is to replace the factory controller with an aftermarket controller. Most any aftermarket brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 or Redarc Tow Pro Liberty # RED24FR will be compatible with EOH brakes. So making this switch is basically guaranteed to resolve the issue and allow your trailer brakes to work normally. With the Redarc controller you have the option for a plug-and-play install using the # 331-TPH-007 wiring harness. Generally, this is the approach I recommend.
