Yes, the tech note you referenced for the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13445 is meant to take you to either the No-Drill Mount for Electrical Mounting Bracket - Short # 18140 or long # C57202. These no-drill brackets have a hose clamp that will wrap around the cross-tube of the hitch for an easy mounting point for the trailer wire harness connector. The long bracket is approximately 6-5/8" long and the short bracket is 3-13/16" long. If you plan on installing a 7-way connector then you'll likely need the long bracket to ensure there's enough space for the wiring to fit.
To mount a 7-way connector you'll want to also pick up part # 18138. If you have a 4-pole connector you'll want part # 18144 instead.
