A keen observation. The # e28AR and # C34ER hitches for the 2023 Kia Sorento are virtually identical. One is our etrailer brand and the other is the Curt brand. Our etrailer brand is actually made for us by Curt, so structurally, they are identical. They both bolt on in the same location and have the same 4,000 lb towing and 600 lb tongue weight capacity.
The only noteworthy difference is that the Curt hitch # C34ER uses a gloss black coating, while our etrailer hitch # e28AR uses a matte black powder coating. We have found that the matte black powder coating is better at resisting scuffs and scratches. It also blends better with the underbody of the vehicle, since a lot of the plastic underbody panels also have a matte black finish. In most cases our etrailer hitch will also be priced lower than the Curt equivalent, at least that's the idea. For those reasons, if it were my car I would definitely go with our etrailer brand hitch.
I have included our install video below if you want to take a look.
