Parts Needed to Rewire an 18' Trailer with a Set of Brakes and 6-Pin Connector

Question:

Yesterday I inquired about a light/wiring/pigtail kit to rewire my equipment hauling trailer, 18x7.5 tandem axle, with electric brakes on a single axle and a 6 pin pigtail. The response I got was questionable to me as the recommended kit looked like it only fit a single axle smaller utility trailer without brakes and only a 4 pin connector. Please advise me on which kit that you sell that will completely rewire my larger 18 trailer as described in my first sentence above. Thanks in advance for your time and cooperation.

Here are the parts I recommend using to replace the wiring on your 18' trailer with a set of brakes and a 6-pin connector:

- Pollak 6-Pole, Round Pin, Trailer Wiring Connector # PK11604
- 25 Ft 4-Way Trailer Wiring Harness - Wishbone Style # A25W2GWB
- 10 Gauge Wire # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot)
- Butt Connector Kits # DW05745-5 and # DW05744-10

You'll use the wishbone style harness to route wiring from your lights to the connector, but then you'll cut off the 4-Way and connect that end of the wiring to the Pollak 6-Pole connector I referenced. The 10 gauge wiring is what you need for your trailer brakes, and the butt connectors are the best and easiest way to ensure your wiring connections are protected.

If you have any questions about these parts or you have a different style of connector please feel free to reach out!
