Fit of Thule Apex TH9025XT on 2012 Volvo XC60
Question:
Does this bike rack fit a Volvo 2012 XC 60? Any other recommendations for a Volvo XC60?

When we installed the Curt Class III, part # 13268 on a 2011 Volvo XC60, we found that the distance from the hitch pin hole to the furthest rearward portion of the rear bumper cover was 7 inches. This distance can vary by the manufacturer of your hitch.
The length of the shank of the Thule Apex # TH9025XT Bike rack you mentioned is about 7 inches measured from the hitch pin hole to the closest portion of the rack. If the hitch pin hole to rear of bumper dimension on your XC60 is LESS than 7 inches, the rack will fit. If the distance is greater, it means that the foot of the rack would contact the rear bumper before the rack could be slid in far enough for the hitch pin holes to line up. I'll link you to an FAQ article that shows exactly how to take the measurement.
If you don't have enough clearance, you might be interested in the Yakima RidgeBack, part # Y02458 which offers a full 11-1/2 inches of clearance between the hitch pin hole and the upright of the bike rack.
If you will be carrying women's bikes or other bikes with angled top tubes, using a frame adapter bar like part # 64005 is recommended. The adapter bar spans the distance between the handlebar goosneck and the seat post, providing a level attachment point for the bike rack. Carrying the bike at an angle can reduce ground clearance.
