I have a 2013 dodge Durango with a 7 plug dodge . how is the brake controller installed.

Since your 2013 Dodge Durango has the factory installed 7-Way, to install a brake controller you will just need the brake controller itself and the proper wiring harness to plug it into your Durango.

If you want to go with the Curt Venturer, # C74VV, then the only other part you will need is wiring harness # C51446. I have included a link to the installation details for you.

The wiring harness plugs into a connector already on your vehicle. The connector is located underneath the dash, to the left of the steering column, and it is taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal. I have included a picture pointing it out. In order to install the Curt Discovery Trailer Brake Controller part #C84VV on a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee you will need the Curt Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers part #C51446 which makes for a plug and play installation.
