Can Ark Drop Down Stabilizers Be Extended And Retracted With A Power Drill

Question:

Hi etrailer, two questions about these stabilizers, want to ensure I understand the product. 1. Would you say these are an upgrade over a basic scissor jack that comes installed on a travel trailer? 2. Is it okay to use a socket and power drill to lower these instead of the manual crank? Thanks! If it helps, my TT is a 2021 Coachmen Freedom Express 238BHS.

Yes, the Ark Drop Down Corner RV Stabilizer Jacks # ARK94FR are definitely an upgrade over standard trailer stabilizers. The drop down feature makes it a lot quicker to get the jacks up and tucked out of the way so they don't catch when the trailer has limited ground clearance, unlike standard stabilizers. When it comes to stabilizers using a drill is also a no-no since you can strip out the gears and render the stabilizer useless. That being said, as long as you use a standard drill (no hammer feature) and go slowly you shouldn't tear up the stabilizers.
