Is A Check Valve Needed To Install The Roadmaster Invisibrake Second Vehicle Kit In A 2020 Ranger

Question:

RE: Roadmaster Second Vehicle Kit PN 98700 installation in 2020 Ford Ranger LariaT Hello, I spoke with Josh earlier today and he referred me to Roadmaster to answer the following question but I still do not have an answer. Roadmaster requires a 5/8” T installation in the brake booster vacuum line. The RM 98700 does not provide the part. I ordered it from Roadmaster and asked if a check valve still needs to be installed as well. The Roadmaster Installation Instructions for PN 452154-00 5/8” T does not indicate a check valve installation, but the RM Second Vehicle kit does. I need confirmation whether a check valve needs to be installed before I cut the vacuum line. Looking for a quick response since I am at a standstill until clarified. Thanks!

A check valve is needed for the brake booster air line when installing the Second Vehicle Kit # RM-98700. You will need to place one between the engine and tee with the red or black band on the check valve pointing towards the engine. I've attached a snippet from the manual below that shows this.
