Hatch Clearance With # 63153 Pro Series Cargo Carrier Installed on 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan

Question:

If I use the 63153 on the Draw-Tite #75579, will the measurements/distances still be the same as mentioned on your video? Im just concerned that I might not be able to open the back door of the Caravan without hitting the cargo on the carrier. Thanks and will wait for your reply.

The hitches offered for the 2013 Grand Caravan and Town and Country set back under the rear bumper at a different distance. The Curt # 13364 hitch has a 4 inch distance from the hitch pin hole to the rear most portion of the bumper, while the Draw-Tite is recessed a bit more at about 6-1/2 inches.

Based on the distance the carrier is away from the vehicle in the video, the vehicle in the video has the Curt hitch installed on it. This means that when installed on your vehicle with a Draw-Tite installed, the 63153 carrier would move about 2-1/2 inches closer to the vehicle versus what we found in the video, which will slightly decrease how far the hatch can open.

The rear hatch will certainly clear the carrier, but how much clearance you have will depend on how tall the load on the carrier is.
