Recommended 7-Way Harness to Use a Curt Echo w/ a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek
Question:
I am buying a small camper and the previous owner is including a Curt Echo wireless brake controller. I plan on using my new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek to tow the trailer. Can you tell me what I need to add a 7-way harness?

I would be happy to and congrats on the new trailer! To install a 7-Way wiring harness on your 2024 Subaru Crosstrek you will need two separate wiring harnesses because they don't make just one that will add the 7-way you'll need.
The first harness you'll need is the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness item # C56040. This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your Subaru's wiring harness, which is located behind the interior trim panel in your rear cargo area. It will provide you with a 4-way connector.
The second harness you will need is the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller item # ETBC7L. The kit includes a pre-wired 7- and 4-way trailer connector that mounts easily at the rear of your Subaru with an included bracket. It is designed specifically to work with the Curt Echo item # C51180. This kit is designed for use on a vehicle with an existing 4-way flat trailer connector and plugs directly into it. It will provide you with the 7-Way connector you need to control your trailer's brakes.
Some other parts you will need to tow a trailer with your 2024 Subaru Crosstrek are listed below:
Trailer Hitch - etrailer Hitch item # e98912
Wiring Harness Mount - No-Drill Mount Bracket item # 18136
Ball Mount - Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches item # C45534
