Installing a Brake Controller and Vehicle 7-Way in a 2009 Ford E-350
Question:
I need to install a brake controller on my van. I have located the connector behind the panel in the upper dash, and watched your how to video. Im interested in the prodigy p2, and the correct wiring kit. Can you please clarify what I need to purchase to complete the project, including part numbers? Thank you. Again, this is regarding the 2009 Ford E350, with a tow hitch and factory 4 pin installed. ETBC7, and the 90885, 3034-P. Is this correct?

Yes, you are correct that for your 2009 E-350 Van the Prodigy P2 # 90885, and plug-in wiring adapter # 3034-P are the correct parts for your van. This will plug into the connector that you have found in the dash.
For a fully functioning 7-way you will also have to install a 7way connector. To determine which specific one you will need you can trace the wires on your existing 4-way and see if there is a junction connector on the frame rail of your van. This connector would have at least 6 wires that come into the connector, then 4 for the output on your 4-way. If you do locate this connector then you can use just the # 37185. You may need a length of # 10-2-1 to extend the connection to the 7-way at the back of your van.
In this case you can connect the blue wire on the # 37185 to the blue wire on the 6-wire bundle, which is the brake output. The black wire on the # 37185 will connect to either the red or the orange wire on the 6-wire bundle. I recommend using a circuit tester like the # PTW2993 to confirm the functions of these wires before making the connections.
If can not locate the 6 wire bundle connection point on your van then you can follow the installation of the # ETBC7 as you have referenced. I have included a video showing this installation on a slightly newer van (2012) for your reference. Please note for this application you will need to splice into the connection adapter for the blue brake wire and the 12V wires on the brake controller, as noted in the installation video. You will also need to install an in-line circuit breaker for both the 12V power wire for the brake controller, and for the 12V on the 7-way for the vehicle connection.
I have included links to the parts recommended above, an installation video, and a couple of helpful articles for your reference.
