Troubleshooting A Blue Ox Alpha 2 Tow BAr That Wont Lock Into The Storage Position
Question:
Blue Ox Alpha 2 Is Stuck and Wont go Fully Into Storage Position Question: I can not see where anyone else has had this issue. It simply does not go down any further and it is stopped. The silver bolt doesn’t move right or left either. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for any help! I am posting this from an earlier request from someone else. Mine is doing the same thing now. It was working but now will not move into the slot when brought up and moving to either side. I purchased it March 7, 2023. Are there any adjustments? It seems like it wont slide to get under the tabs.

This issue is somewhat common for more than just the Blue Ox Alpha 2 # BX7380. The first thing to do would be to make sure that the pivot points on the tow bar aren't getting clogged up with any debris, preventing them from pivoting. You can use some lubricant like # RM-747 to lubricate each point without attracting more debris. Having dealt with this issue with other tow bars I've noticed that if the pivot point is even slightly crooked to one side or the other when lifting the arms up to get the post into the holder that the arms won't want to cooperate when you try to both down into the locked in storage position.
If you look at the videos Ryan and Dave made you can see they both kind of struggle to get the arms into the storage position so I would say this is a bit more common with this specific tow bar. I'd really make sure it's properly lubricated and clean and use a storage bag # BX8875 when not in use to prevent any further issues.
