I do see you can flat tow your 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid as long as you do not exceed 70mph according to the owners manual for the vehicle. Here is a list of the parts I recommend using.

Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate # 524432-1
Roadmaster Crossbar # 910021-00
Roadmaster Nighthawk All-Terrain Tow Bar # RM-676
Roadmaster Accessory Kit # RM-9284-2
Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25

You will need a supplemental braking system of which I prefer the Demco Air Force One # DM26VR for tow vehicles with air brakes and Stay-IN-Play Duo # DM86VR for vehicles with hydraulic brakes are the best supplemental braking systems we offer. They both ensure the brakes on your C-Max are only activated when the tow vehicle is braking to prevent the brakes from becoming damaged or excessively worn.

You may also need a High/Low adapter depending on how much of a height difference there is from your receiver to the mounts on your Sonic. The tow bars should not have more than 3" of vertical difference between the vehicle. Here is a list of the different sizes available.
4" Rise/Drop # RM-048-4
6" Rise/Drop # RM-048-6
8" Rise/Drop # RM-048-8
10-1/4" Rise/Drop # RM-048-10
