What Is The Locking Mechanism For The Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack Which Secures It To Vehicle?

Question:

i am considering the Thule Easy Fold XT but I dont understand how the bike rack can be fully secured to the SUV since there isnt a bolt passing through the hitch receiver and bike rack. It doesnt appear that the rack would be secured just by tightening the anti-wobble knob, Please provide additional details on how this Thule rack is secure. Thank you

The Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack # TH903202 does secure itself using the anti-rattle tightened down inside the receiver on your tow vehicle. There is a lock on the knob which prevents the anti-rattle mechanism from being loosened and that is what secures it to your vehicle. The locks on the knobs are the same locking mechanism used to secure your bikes to the bike rack. We have tested the locks in our facility and they are very secure and we have tested the bike rack on your speed bump courses without any movement of the bike rack in the receiver tube.

If you do not feel these are going to be enough to prevent someone from stealing your bikes and the rack you can also run a Cable Lock # e98891 through your bikes the rack and the chain loops on your receiver for additional theft prevention.
