How Can I Determine The Weight Capacity Of A 6 Lug Axle

I have boat trailer axle 3 inch by 2 inch 6 lug. Can you tell the weight rating of the axle

We can definitely narrow it down, but it is difficult to say with 100% certainty what the weight rating is based on those specs. Generally a 6 lug hub will be on axles rated between 5,200 and 6,000 lbs. There are some 3,500 lb axles that use a 6 lug hub also, but they are not as common. If this is an older axle, that same rule may not apply. Also, the same rules that apply to round tube leaf spring axles do not always apply to square or rectangle tube torsion axles. You would either need to check the axle tag, or have the manufacturer of the trailer run your VIN, in order to know for sure.
