Recommended Bike Rack For 60 lb Aventon Ebikes With Fenders
Question:
We have two Aventon eBikes with fenders. I dont like the Thule EasyFold - I have found it impossible to configure those arms to securely catch the frame on a number of ebikes. We have a 1-1/4 hitch. Id love a rack that grabs the wheel. On our Aventon bikes, the fender seems very strong near the fork, as that is where it is bolted on, and the fender is substantial. Would it work to use the wheel grab approach and clamp it down right by the fork on the fender? Could I use the RockyMounts HighNoon FC 2?

The fenders on your Aventon Ebike will certainly limit your bike rack options. We do not recommend using a wheel mount rack like the RockyMounts HighNoon 2. The fender is not a secure mounting point. Mounting the hook to a fender could potentially damage your bike and we do not recommend taking that risk.
For your bikes I recommend going with the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 2 # HLY74FR. This is a frame mount rack and has an 80 lb per bike capacity. We have seen this used with ebikes very similar to your Aventon bikes and it works great. Especially with bikes that have an "alternative" frame style. In some cases you may need to use an adapter bar like the # HRBA-PRO for your connection point. I believe a setup like this will be much easier to use than the Thule EZ fold you mentioned.
I have linked a few of our install/review videos below if you want to take a look.
