You may be able to convert your boat trailer from surge drum brakes to electric over hydraulic disc brakes. To verify this is possible I will need to know exactly what axles, hubs and surge coupler you have. This may require removing your current hubs to measure the spindles as well to ensure a disc brake kit like the Deemax # DE46YR will fit your spindle. If you can send me all the information above I can verify the best kit for your trailer.
You will need to replace your surge coupler with a standard Coupler # DM15000-52 and install a Hydrastar Vented Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes # HS481-8067. This particular coupler will bolt to a 3" wide trailer tongue and the actuator kit includes all the electrical components you will need.
