How to Install a Brake Controller on a 2008 Hummer H3
Question:
Do you have any instructions on installing a brake controller on a 2008 H3 Hummer

Brake controllers can be used with virtually any vehicle so there are not many vehicle specific instructions out there.
Underneath your dash somewhere is a bundle of 4 or 5 wires Red, Light Blue, Black, Dark Blue and possibly Orange. The Orange wire will not be used. The bundle is usually taped up in one of three places underneath the dash. Sometimes it is next to the center console by the gas pedal, sometimes it is above the emergency foot brake by the door and other times it is behind the plastic kick panel just to the left of the emergency foot brake.
This bundle of wires is what is used to hook up the electrical lead wires coming off the back of a brake controller. I will include a link to a page to a brake controller help page that has a chart on how to match the wire colors.
The instructions included with the brake controller will tell you how to mount it and how to adjust the settings on the controller. The mounting location just needs to keep the controller with in hands reach of the driver. I will include a link to the instructions of the Tekonsha Prodigy, our best selling brake controller.
I have also included a link to a brake controller install on a 2008 GMC Sierra that should be very helpful. Start at the 1:18 time mark. The procedure for your Hummer would be similar.
