Rear Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for a Diesel 2021 GMC Sierra 1500
Question:
Hello, considering the installation of a Firestone Ride Rite F2069 kit in my 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali to assist with squat and ride control for a 29 foot inline/enclosed. My question stems from fact I have factory LM2 diesel engine, and your page seems to indicate this kit will not work. What is the problem if all stock exhaust, and is there another Firestone kit that would work ? Thank you

I have a suspension enhancement recommendation for you, but the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2609 won't fit with your Diesel 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 because the air spring will sit up against the exhaust. My contact at Firestone said they've heard of some dealers or shops modifying the exhaust hangers to account for this but the diesel models are few and far between so they don't have a kit (and won't be making one) to accommodate the exhaust.
For your application I recommend using the RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit # RAS4611 instead because it gives you support and still allows you to adjust the tension, so it's a good in-between option for air bags and jounce springs, plus you don't have to worry about this making contact with your exhaust.
