Should Tandem Axles Have Same Ratings & How to Find 3,500 lb Axle
Question:
our keystone camper is showing signs of a bend axle, the inside of the tire is severely wearing faster then the rest of the tire. the axle is a 213273, rated for 3500 lbs. my question is the camper has double axles, would it cause issues if we replaced the bent axle with a higher rated axle like the 5,200 lbs and left the other one with the smaller one rated 3500 lbs?

You definitely want to have axles with the same weight rating, particularly because larger axles have a different diameter and will cause uneven suspension wear and issues with staying level. So I recommend sticking with either a pair of 3,500 lb axles or 5,200 lb axles.
In order to choose the correct replacement axle for your trailer you will need to know the dimensions of your current axle's hub face to hub face and spring center to spring center; I have added a link below to a video which walks you through how to measure.
For example, the Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with E-Z Lube Spindles # 7359765 has a 3,500 lb capacity and measures 95 inches from hub face to hub face and 80 inches from spring center to spring center.
I've added a link below to our selection of axles for you which you can filter through by length.
