Can I Move My Rhino Rack Crossbars Farther Apart On Top Of My 2022 F-150?
Question:
I have the rhino rack 2500 HD for a Ford F-150 2022 Im hauling 100 lb canoe will probably never haul anything heavier and want the racks farther apart. Seems to me it would be stronger to be near the rear of the truck or the frame member comes up instead of a window can I move them further apart safely

The roof of your F-150 will allow for a little bit of wiggle room as far as the crossbar spread. You should be able to move each crossbar front/back a few inches. The curvature of the roof will limit how far front/back you can move them.
You are not wrong in saying the load will be more stable a bit farther back, but we do want to keep things fairly centered on the roof. Roof rack manufactures like Rhino rack will test the strongest points on the roof, and base their recommended crossbar spread on that. We always recommend following the manufacturer instructions closely. You likely would not notice much of a difference if you shift the crossbars back a few inches.
