Troubleshooting No Power to Curt Assure Brake Controller Connected to 2021 Jayco Motorhome

Question:

I bought a Curt assure brake controller 51160 for my 2021 Jayco RV E450. Got the plug to direct contact to the vehicle, but no power to the controller. The truck starts and the fuse number 41 is a 30amp and good. Any other ideas?

To troubleshoot the Curt Assure Brake Controller # C49UR and Wiring Harness # C51432 on your 2021 Ford E-450 I recommend checking the pin on your vehicle-side connector that matches with the pin on the wiring adapter with the black wire, as this is the color wire that carriers the 12V power from the battery.

If the pin on your vehicle-side connector doesn't have 12V power then that means something on your vehicle wiring is bad, but if you see 12V power there then that means the wiring adapter is bad (just plug it in and check the other side of the connector that has the black wire to check) or the controller itself is bad.

To remedy no 12V power coming from the vehicle-side connector you can use the Curt Universal Wiring Kit for Trailer Brake Controllers # C51500 which comes with all of the wiring and connectors you need to complete your installation.

To remedy the brake controller or wiring adapter you'll just need to get it replaced.
