Recommended Screw Size for Installing Rackem 2-Hook Multi-Tool Trailer Rack

Question:

My trailer has 3/8inch plywood walls. Is there a recommended screw size for installing Rackem hooks? I purchased RA-11 and RA-13 racks. Any information is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your recent order.

When you install your Rackem 2-Hook Multi-Tool Trailer Racks, # RA-11 and RA-13, in your enclosed trailer it may be a good idea to add a strip of additional wood material between the rack and the trailer 3/8-inch plywood wall. This will allow you to use longer wood screws. If the items you intend to store are light in weight, say a broom for example, then you can possibly skip this extra step. The screw holes in this rack are 1/4-inch in diameter. Please refer to the linked photo.

Do note that the top portions of this rack include two bends that are intended to allow it to hang from the metal frame runner at the top of the side walls. Depending on how the interior of your trailer is finished you may have other options for installing the rack, but you will want to take advantage of those bends which will bear much of the weight load of the rack and what you store on it.
