Can Charging A Trailer Battery With The Tow Vehicle Alternator Damage The Converter

Question:

If I make this lithium upgrade to my power center would I leave the red/aux trailer harness wire intact from my truck while towing? IOW is there any ill affect to the converter or RV batteries or alternator while towing?

The Progressive Dynamics 9100 Inteli-Power Lithium Converter - 12V - 45A # PD9145ALV only has power when the trailer is connected to shore power (110v AC). The power coming from your alternator is 12v DC and is totally fine to send through to the battery and in no way would ever make contact with the converter. Even if you had the converter operating and then added in the power from the alternator you still wouldn't have an issue because the converter can read the charge level of the battery and change how much voltage it sends based on this. This means multiple power sources (converter, alternator, solar, etc.) could all be charging the battery at once.
