Finding What Blue Wire of 2010 Nissan Frontier Trailer Wiring Harness is For
Question:
2010 Nissan Frontier has a blue wire separate from the 4 pin factory harness. I pulled the blue wires from my trailer, along with the other wiring on my Q3 Tracker trailer, hoping the new 4 pin harness would work with the existing truck harness however, I now have running lights but no brake lights or turn signals. I think the blue wire might have been for electric brakes? Not sure, but I was wondering if this harness should work/control my brake lights and turn signals without the blue wire being wired? I feel it was a mistake to remove the blue wire, and will probably wind up buying another harness, but was wondering if there might be another reason I dont have blinkers/brake lights.

It's pretty hard to say what the blue wire is for but the best way to identify what it does is to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test it when you apply various turn signals/brakes and see at what point it has voltage. Other things to check are fuses and relays for the vehicle's factory wiring.
