Will 4-Way Harness Connectors of Malone Trailer Get Easier to Use Over Time
Question:
Bought a Malone trailer from you, and completed assembly. Its ready to use, except I have an issue with the 4 way 4 wire connectors. I need to deal with 2 of them on a regular basis. The one that connects to my car, and I have a retractible tongue on the trrailer, so, when I retract the tongue I need to disconnect the wiring in the long tongue from the internal trailer wiring as well. I have limited use of one hand, and this fitting is VERY tight. Im afraid Im going to damage the wiring connector connection by my ham-fisted connecting and disconnecting the wires. Is there anything I can do, like dialectric grease, to make this connect/disconnect easier. I had an old utility trailer years ago that used a 4 wire connection and I dont remember that being particularly difficult to connect/disconnect. Will this connection improve as I plug and unplug regularly? If it wont improve and theres nothing I can do with the connectors I have, is there a wiring harness replacement for what I have that would work better for me. Just in case I either cant get used to what I have, or I break what I have?

Expert Reply:
Using some dielectric grease like the part # 11755 will help get the connectors easier to plug in and unplug but also over time they will become easier to disconnect and connect so it's going to get easier.
