Trailer Hitch & Wiring Harness For 2004 Audi A5 Avant Wagon
Question:
Hi, I am installing a hitch in an 04 Audi A4 Avant-wagon and I am wondering if I need to get a trailer wiring kit with or without a converter for the initial installation. The owners manual says do not connect the trailer light system directly to the light system of the vehicle...if that has anything to do with it? Thanks

For your 2004 Audi A4 Avant Wagon, you do need a trailer wiring kit with a converter for towing with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 11164.
Trailer wiring harnesses today are designed to work seamlessly with a vehicle's lighting system so there won't be any issues, and the correct 4-way for your Audi is the Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C59236.
