Does the 20 Amp Circuit Breaker for Ultra-Fab Powered Trailer Jacks Reset Itself

Question:

How do you reset the 20 AMP Circuit Breaker on the Electric Tongue Jack?

Once an overload condition has ceased then the circuit breaker should reset itself. It is mounted on the outside of jack # UF38-944017 but should not need any persuasion to reset. If the jack is not powering on it could be that an overload or short still exists or something else in the electrical system from the power source to the jack is not working properly.

You will also need to check the in line fuse. If it is blown the jack will not operate. If all the wiring is done correctly and there is no short then normally what trips a breaker or blows the fuse is either trying to lift more weight than the jack is rated for or trying to extend or retract it beyond its limit.

Make sure that the location where the jack is mounted is clean and free of corrosion because that can cause issues since the jack grounds through the mounting hardware.

I had a spark on my FIC 3500 power jack at the frame and not it is not working and the 30 amp fuse is not blown and the jack light works, what could be the issue? Bad ground or switch bad?

It could be a bad ground or switch but I'm wondering what caused the spark to begin with. Do you have it wired directly to an auxiliary battery for power or is it hooked up to the 12V circuit on your 7-Way? Make sure all the connections are secure and that the ground is still attached to a CLEAN, bare metal surface. Let me know what you find and we'll go from there.

@ChrisR I pulled all of the bolts holding the jack to the frame and cleaned the paint on the frame and bolt head faces, re-installed and it is working fine now, this power jack was installed at the factory and runs in to a junction box with a 30 amp in line fuse. Thank you.
