Why Would Brake Controller Only Work with Manual Override

My brake controller works when i use the override but not when i press the brake pedal. Does that mean my controller is bad or do i need to do some more investigating?

The problem is related to the red wire of the brake controller. This is the circuit that tells the controller you are applying the brakes and to start applying trailer brakes. This can be due to the connection to your stoplight switch on your truck needing to be checked or it's sometimes a blown third brake light fuse.
