Bike Rack Ground Clearance Solution For A 2017 Forest River Forester Motorhome

Question:

I have a 2017 Forest River, Forester 3051S See attached photo of my hitch set up. At times, the hitch bottoms out and hits concrete or pavement. There ate two protective V's that can be seen where contact is made, so not direct contact with the hitch. I want to make sure that the HLY84FR that is made for motorhomes would not bottom out. You have a customer provided photo of a Forester with that rack model attached however I cannot tell what model the Forester is in that photo, mine is the longest at 32, so mine has the most overhang from the back tires. Thank you,

It's really going to depend on the angle of the road compared to the motorhome so there's no real clear cut answer without actually placing the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack # HLY84FR and measuring to find what angle it would start to hit. That being said, the easiest solution would be to use a stacked receiver like Gen-Y's # 325-GH-514 in the rise position to raise the rack higher, without reducing the carrying capacity of the hitch.
