More than likely the Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution # RE34FR will work for your trailer. You want to choose a weight distribution hitch based on the fully loaded tongue weight of your setup, including the weight of anything behind the rear axle in your 2020 Ford Ranger. Ideally, you want to measure this with a scale like the # e99044.
The tongue weight range of the # RE34FR is 200-600 lbs. As long as your tongue weight is within this range it will work well for you. Tongue weight is typically 10-15% of the trailer weight. At 3,100 lbs you're well within range at 310-465 lbs of tongue weight. However, if that is the dry weight of your trailer it is possible you could go over the 600 lb max once you load it which would make the system ineffective. If you will be over 600 lbs you would need the # RE94FR instead. This has a slightly higher rating with a tongue weight range of 400-800 lbs.
