Do 2012 Ford F-350 Mounting Brackets Need to Be Upgraded with Firestone 5K to 7.5K Air Bag Kits

I currently have Firestone ride rites 5000 on my 2012 f350. It was a universal kit that I drilled through the frame to install. I’m wondering if it it possible to replace bags with the 7500 red label or do I have to get a whole new kit?

To upgrade to the Firestone Red-Label Ride-Rite kit for your 2012 Ford F-350 you'll have to get an entirely different kit as the 5,000 lb system, part # F2597, doesn't have as robust mounting brackets. For the full Red-Label kit you need the following:
- Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs # F2703
The mounting brackets look similar for both kits but they have different parts numbers so you need to use the newer brackets. The other thing about upgrading is you'll be using custom brackets so you won't have to drill into your frame to install the new parts.
