Is A Pressure Relief Valve Required For A Fogatti Tankless Water Heater

Question:

On your Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater - Gas - Automatic Pilot - 41,800 Btu, there is a note on your webpage that says “Requires temperature and pressure relief valve CAM10423 - sold separately.” I spoke to Fogatti this morning and they said that it’s already built into their units. I also spoke with an RV tech and they said all tankless units have some type of pressure relief built into them. But your site says to buy an extra part and add it. I’ve included the pic with my question and I’m trying to figure out who’s right….any thoughts?

The instruction manual for the Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater # LSB64FR lists the need for a pressure relief valve # CAM10423 during the installation and would have you tie it into the water outlet using a tee. The drain pipe you're referring to in the diagram is just to drain the lines of the water heater so you can clean/winterize it. They do list in the instructions that a pressure relief valve is included for units purchased in Canada, but that's most likely just because of some law requirement.

In the attached video below Dave will start installing the pressure relief valve around the 7 minute mark.
