Which Hitch Is Recommended For A 2017 CrossRoads Volante 5th Wheel?

Question:

I have a 2017 Crossroads Volante 310BH that I want to double tow our 4,000lbs boat behind. Yes, our truck is a big one, and it can handle it. What i need to know is will this work with this RV that has a measurement of 68inch from the center of I-beam to I-beam. If this is not the right one too bad i have already bought and received this 13704 already, can you tell me which hitch will work for us? Also, a big caveat to this install is that the trailer already has a factory bumper mounted right underneath the I-beams in the rear most part which is right where this hitch is supposed to mount. Do i need to remove that bumper first to install this one properly? Or is there another hitch that can mount up with this type of bumper already in that spot that will also handle the 4k lbs load? I found one specifically for I-Beam mounts think it was 13703, but is only rated for 3,500lbs. Any help would be great, thanks!

No, unfortunately the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22" to 66" Wide # C13704 will only fit RV's that have a frame width ranging from 22" to 66", and since you mentioned yours is 68" it's going to be a bit too small.

What you should've gone with instead is the Curt RV Bumper 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # E-100. This hitch will mount directly to your bumper so there won't be any clearance issues from it sitting back too far, and it also has the same 3.5K weight capacity of 3,500-lbs.

However, since you're planning on double-towing your boat with this hitch I really can't advise you do that as this hitch is not only underrated for the application (it's only really designed for RV accessories like bike racks) but also maybe illegal to do depending on where you're at.
