Functions of Progressive Dynamics 4100 Series RV Converter Power - 35 Amp

Question:

My small travel trailer has a 15 Amp main AC breaker immediately inside the shore power plug, which is a standard not round plug. From that breaker there is one AC circuit that runs to two standard AC duplex outlets. There is no converter. There is a battery that is currently charged by the tow vehicle, and has several DC circuits going through fuses to DC lights, DC fan and DC water pump. There are no heavy loads, no AC, microwave or fridge. I have these 2 questions about the Progressive Dynamics 4100 35 Amp power center: 1. Will the 4100 power the two AC outlets, charge the battery, and power the DC circuits when the trailer is plugged into shore power? When the trailer is not plugged into shore power, will the DC circuits be powered by the battery, through the 4100 wiring? 2. How exactly do I wire the 4100 35 Amp unit in my system? Do I wire the 4100 to the 15 Amp AC main breaker? Or does this unit replace the 15 Amp breaker, so I should remove the 15 Amp breaker and directly wire the 4100 to the wires coming from the shore power plug? Or do I need to replace the standard shore power plug with a 30 Amp round shore power plug? And then run wires from the 30 Amp shore power plug to the 4100? Thank you

The Progressive Dynamics 4100 Series RV Converter part # PD4135K while hooked up to show power will be able to supply power to AC circuits, supply power to DC circuits, and charge the trailer battery. The number of circuits is going to vary as you can combine them but the total amp capacity of the AC side is 120 Amps (4 Branch x 30 Amp) and the total amp capacity of the DC side is 220 Amps (1 Slot x 40 Amps + 6 Slots x 30 Amps). The panel while not hooked up to shore power will still serve as a intermediary between the battery and DC circuits, just not the AC circuits unless combined with an inverter.

In regards to the wiring, I can't answer all your questions but you'll want a 30 amp service which includes both an inlet and power cord. I recommend the Epicord 30 Amp Twist Lock Power Inlet part # 277-000138 and Mighty Cord RV Power Cord part # A10-3025ED90. In regards to the rest of your wiring questions, I recommend using our installer locator tool on the product page under the photos/videos so you can get help from a professional. The instructions for the panel are also linked below.
