Can the Crossbars on a Rhino-Rack HD Roof Rack Be Cut Down to a Shorter Size

On the Rhino Racks 65inch bar can they be shortened?

Expert Reply:
No, you cannot cut the crossbars on the Rhino-Rack Roof Rack for Thule and Yakima Tracks # Y01-140B-NT down to a shorter size. The channels on the bottom of the crossbar do not run all the way down the bar. So cutting them could impact the mounting points. It would also void your warranty.
We do carry a shorter version of this rack though.
