Website shows all measurements except one thats very important. I need to know the measurement inside to inside of the tabs themselves, where the coupled goes in and pin goes through to secure. Thanks

The distance between the two tabs on the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # 1437-3 is approximately 2-1/4".

Just off the bat it sounds like you've figured out the problem by turning off the breakers in the converter. If you had some power already being pulled when you plugged into power then it could have been enough to blow the breaker in your garage.…

Roadmaster makes a base plate kit that is designed specifically for the Rugged Ridge bumper like you have which is part #1437-3 which you could attach a Roadmaster tow bar like the Falcon 2 #RM-520 directly to.
