Can You Replace Reese/Pro Series 15K Slider 5th Wheel Hitch with Other 5th Wheel Using Same Rails

Question:

I own the Reese Pro Series 15K slider hitch that I bought on this site a long time ago. It’s installed in a 2001 F250 4 door short bed truck. Using the 58058 rail kit I think, Are there other Hitches that will work with this rail kit? Wanting something with a little more weight rating as well as more articulation. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Yes, pretty much all of the Reese and Pro Series 5th Wheel hitches use what is called indsutry standard above bed base rails which work with probably 95% of hitches on the market. Therefore, we have a ton of great options for you to replace your old hitch with something new. The Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C16541 is a great option I recommend. It has a capacity up to 20,000 lbs and a cushioned, pivoting head to absorb road shock. It also has a ton of other great features like an easy to remove hitch head to save your back, an indicator system for easy coupling/uncoupling, lube points for easy maintenance, and so on. It will drop right into place with your existing rails.
