Recommended Suspension Enhancement for 2023 Ram 2500 Power Wagon With 2 Inch Lift

Question:

What do you guys recommend to help with keeping my truck level while towing a 5th wheel?  Timbren helper or Airbags?  I have a 2023 Ram 2500 which comes with a factory 2inch lift. 4WD Power Wagon Ive been reading but Im not sure which is better. Any explanation on what option you would recommend would be great!

For your 2023 Ram 2500 Power Wagon with a 2" lift I recommend the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2598. Air bags are the best option for additional support to keep you level while towing, especially with your lift.

These offer 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity and can be fully adjusted depending on what you're towing or hauling. The pressure can be reduced to the minimum when you aren't towing so they won't impact your ride.

There are times where the Timbren are a fine choice, but they lack that adjustability and are also known for a rough unloaded ride quality. Also, your truck has to sag enough for the Timbren to engage before they work. That won't be the case with the air bags.

With a 2" lift it is possible you will need a spacer. Measure the distance between the upper and lower brackets to determine if one is needed. If the distance between the brackets is 6.5"-7.5" you need # F2536. If it is 7.5"-8.5" you need # F2366.

I also highly recommend adding an air compressor like the Firestone Air Command II # F2178. This will allow you to adjust the pressure anytime and anywhere from the cab of your truck. It is a dual path system so you can adjust the air springs independently or together.
