Entry Handrail Needed With The MORryde RV Door Latch Extender When You Don't Have The Clearance

Question:

Hi, Since the assist handle on our 2029 Heartland Bighorn 3760EL must fold over the door when traveling we dont have 17inch of clearance. Is it possible to shorten the vertical bar on this item to allow it to fir within the assist handle when the handle is folded over the door?

Both ends of the tube for the MORryde RV Door Latch Extender # MR22JR are threaded so you wouldn't be able to cut it shorter to accommodate your trailer's handle. I had this same issue when I first installed this when it came out, but we had also just gotten the MORryde Safe-T-Rail Telescoping RV Hand Rail # MR54BR which eliminates the issue by folding up straight against the wall of the trailer.

The directions I received with it when I shot the installation video looked like they left a few of the steps out so at first I wasn't exactly thrilled with the product but once I got it installed it was a complete 180 attitude changer. It glides in and out and actually gives you something firm to grab onto. It extends out 42-1/2" from the body of the trailer so it's going to give you a handrail starting at or before the first step, which is great for small children or when you've had too many at the campfire.

I recommend checking out the videos I've attached below so you can see it in use.
