Recommended Device to Remove the Excessive Play and Rattle Between 2-1/2" Receiver And Hitch

Question:

Current OEM hitch on 15 Silverado 2500hd is a 2.5. Using the genuine GM reducer there is minimal play between the reducer and the hitch. BUT, there is excessive play between the 2inch Equalizer shank and the reducer. I just want a 2inch hitch receiver that the shank fits into without all the excessive play. Will the 2inch shank fit in this Curt receiver without play, slop, rattle or whatever you call it?

I do have a solution to help you get rid of the excessive play that you have with your current Equal-i-zer shank as you are always going to have play in any receiver that you use. Excess play in the parts is required as the steel can expand and contract at different intervals and if corrosion develops inside the receiver you will still be able to remove the hitch.

The Curt Anti-Rattle Hitch Clamp # C87UR is a no tool clamp that I recommend using on your 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD. This clamp is designed to work with your 2-1/2" receiver and it will remove the excess play that you have from the receiver to the Equal-i-zer shank. And unlike other clamps that require carrying wrenches to install and remove their product the Curt integrates it into the handle so you will not need to worry about having the correct wrenches with you.
