Can the Swagman Platform-Style RV Bike Rack be Removed and Used on a Toyota Tundra Hitch

Question:

I have a two inch receiver mounted on the frame or my 2001 Toyota Tundra TRD 4X4. I also have a 30foot Coachman, Forest River Inc. Travel Trailer RV. Can I mount the Bumper Hitch to my Trailer and use it on the Tundra also by simply removing the carrier from the RV hitch mount and then installing it in my 2 inch receiver on the Truck ? If so how simple is this to do? This is one of the several selling points for this set up if it can be done. What other hardware would you recommend or is required to do this?

You could certainly remove the Swagman Platform-Style RV Bike Rack, # S64663, from the bumper mount hitch and use it on your Toyota Tundra. The bumper mount hitch that is included with this bike rack would remain on the bumper of your trailer.

It would be a very easy process because the bike rack only uses a threaded hitch pin to hold the bike rack in the hitch. Once you remove the hitch pin, you can pull the bike rack out and use it on any other vehicle with a 2 inch trailer hitch.

One measurement that you will want to keep in mind is the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the first wheel loop on the bike rack, which is 4 inches. You will want to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole on your Tundra to the rear-most edge of your rear bumper verify that you will not have any problems loading a bike in the first wheel slots. If you have more than 4 inches from the hitch pin hole to the rear bumper edge, then you may not be able to use the first wheel loops.
