Will Adding The Derale Dual-Pass Heat Sink Cooler Be To Cold In Winter 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD?
Question:
curious as to whether adding the heat sink cooler D13261 in conjunction with the factory installed auxiliary cooler would over-cool if possible the transmission fluid when not towing during the cooler months of the year. I have noticed while towing my fifth wheel the transmission temp usually stays rather warm and often border line HOT while pulling on an extended incline. Truck is a 2006 Chevrolet 2500HD 4X4, 9000 lb fifth wheel. Well within the towing capacity for the truck. Thanks in advance..

You are able to add the Derale Dual-Pass Heat Sink Cooler # D13261 to your 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD with the factory transmission cooler. This will simply allow for some additional cooling to the transmission fluid. You do not have to worry about the transmission fluid getting to cold in the winter months as it will continue to pump even below freezing. We do have the Cooler With Install Kit # D13264 so you will have the parts you need to install this in your Silverado.
