Will The Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner Replace A Dometic Duo-Therm Condenser Unit

Question:

I have a 2017 forest river Sandpiper 379flok. It has the dual climate duo therm thermostat on it with 2x Dometic 15K units 541816AXXIJO. Serial numbers if it helps are 71825459 and 71825460. Cant seem to find a good answer, will this work with my existing dometic thermostat? Dometic Thermostat part number 3314080.000

The Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ACM150 can most certainly replace the condenser units of your Dometic Duo-Therm AC system. The only thing you'll need to check beforehand is if you have a 6-pin or 9-pin connector on the harness for Dometic units.

Each unit will have a controller, which is typically a small black plastic or metal box that all the wiring will run to. This can be mounted either inside of the condenser unit or mounted in the air distribution box (plastic cover for the hole on the inside of the trailer). You'll need to trace the wire harness that hangs down to the controller and see what the connector is. If you have a 9-pin connector then you'll need two wiring harness adapters # ACCOLKIT.

I've linked a video below where I'll show you this harness and the controller, which was mounted inside of the condenser unit instead of in the air distribution box. If you do have a 9-pin then you most likely also had a heat pump, you will be losing this function since the pump is inside of the old condenser unit. If you want to add a heat option then you can install some heat strips # ACMHD. You'll need to look up the instructions for your system's thermostat to see which way the DIP switches need to be to function properly with the heat strips.
