Troubleshooting An iRV34 RV Stereo That Won't Power On  

Question:

I HAVE A IRV 36 STEREO THAT WILL NOT POWER UP. I PULLED THE BOX OUT AND HAVE A BLUE WIRE LOOSE. CAN NOT DETERMINE WHAT IT CONNECTS TO

The blue wire for the iRV36 is for the Antenna Power Out and would not be a reason that your stereo isn't powering on. I recommend checking the inline fuse on the power wire to see if the fuse is bad first. From there I would test the power wire with a multimeter # PT89ZR to see if the stereo is getting a full 12 volts. If it's not then the power source (battery) is the issue. If it is getting 12v power and the fuse is good then the unit itself is bad and will need to be replaced.

If this is the case for you then I recommend swapping out to the newer model, the iRV RV Stereo # IRV64FR. The cutout hole size is a bit larger at 6-11/16" wide x 3-15/16" tall x 6-11/16" deep compared to the 4-3/8" wide x 4" tall x 3" deep measurements required for the iRV34, but you'll pretty much have to alter the hole anyway with any other stereo currently on the market.
