Troubleshooting the iRV 34 and Recommended Replacement

Question:

iRV 34. I have this unit installed in a 2017 Montana 3911FB that requires the on/off button to be pressed numerous times in the morning after being off all night before it will turn on. Can this problem be fixed? Ive been told the unit will require replacement for this problem, however, I see its discontinued-is there a unit available that is plug and play and requires no cabinet modification

You apparently have an intermittent failing switch that has contact interference as it will not continuously close the circuit on demand. I would first attempt to clear any possible debris, dust etc. from switch using compressed air/canned air, such as used to dust out keyboards etc. If that own its own does not resolve issue I would attempt to clean the contacts with WD-40 Specialist Electrical Contact Cleaner Spray or an equivalent. isopropyl alcohol works very well too.

For replacement, there is not a next model direct replacement that allows for same cutout dimensions and basically a plug and play connection. Your iRV34 was that to the iRV33 model.

I suggest the iRV, # IRV64FR, it has overall dimensions of 8-1/4" wide x 4-3/8" tall x 7-1/8" deep with mounting dimensions/cutout of 6-11/16" wide x 3-15/16" tall x 6-11/16" deep. While not plug and play by disconnecting a current wiring harness and plugging in to the new, it does come with easy to follow installation instructions.
