Parts Needed To Convert From Surge Brakes To Electric Brakes on 2003 Centurion Boat Trailer

Question:

Is the unit water tight? If I mount it on a boat trailer and it partially gets submerged in water will it damage it? What would I need to put electric breaks on my 2003 centurion tandem boat trailer? Right now it has surge brakes.

The # HBA-10 can withstand the elements but it is not designed to be submerged. Something like rain is fine but if you submerge it on your boat trailer you risk damaging the actuator.

If you want to switch to electric brakes you will need need to start with hub and drum assemblies (if you don't already have them) and electric brake assemblies. The hub/drum and the brake assemblies will depend on your axle. For example, if you have a 3,500 lb axle you can use the # AKHD-545-35-G-K or # AKHD-545-35-G-EZ-K (for EZ lube axles) along with the # AKEBRK-35-SA for brakes.

You will also need to add the # H20046 for wiring and the # HM20001 for a breakaway. You can lock out your surge coupler to avoid replacing it. If you don't have a 7-way on your vehicle, you can upgrade your 4-way with the # ETBC7 or a custom wiring harness if one is available. You will also need a brake controller like the Prodigy P2 # 90885.

I have attached some installation videos below for your reference.
