on 2021 wrangler instead of running wire to battery can i go to the 12 volt power plug in the cargo area for the trailer wiring

You must run the hot lead to the battery when installing the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56407 on your 2021 Jeep Wrangler.

The reason is because this is the only way to ensure your Jeep's wiring is not otherwise affected I have added a link below to a help article on routing a power wire to your battery for you to check out.

Hey Miles, so the Curt tow bar lighting kit part #C96JR that you referenced installs by plugging inline with the taillight connectors of the vehicle so it's not going to interfere with any trailer wiring.
