Replacement Converter Options For A Parallax 6332 When Switching To Lithium Batteries

Question:

This is the first I’ve heard that the 9130lv converter is a replacement for a parallax 6332 if you’re switching to lithium batteries. I thought the only option was pd4635LIV, I need to do this update and I want to make sure I get it right.

In the question and answer page you're referring to Kyle states that the Replacement Converter for Parallax/Magnetek or WFCO RV Power Centers - 35 Amp # PD4635V could be used in to replace the converter section, but that it was only intended for use with lead acid, AGM, and gel batteries.

To switch to lithium compatible you have two options:

Option 1: You can simply disconnect the current converter and wire in the Progressive Dynamics Inteli-Power RV Converter and Battery Charger # PD9130LV. This stand-alone converter would not fit in the converter section of the power center but would still function the same.

Option 2: You can replace the entire power center with one like the # PD4135K, which has a switch to go from lead acid to a lithium charging profile.

If you just need to charging capability I would go with Option 1. If you want to update the look of your camper then I would go with Option 2 so that you can have a newer looking power center.
