Is There A Baseplate That Doesn't Require Removal Of The Tow Hooks On A 2020 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk

Question:

2020 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. Is there any way to add a base plate to flat tow behine a Class A Motorhome but still keep the front tow hooks. Ive been by some that they have to be removed but others tell me they can be kept. I currently have the Blue Ox tow system and now need to add the base plate to my new tow system. I used to tow a Ford CMax so I have most of the parts and I know I need a new base plate and wiring for my new Jeep. Any guidance is appreciated.

All of the baseplates that we currently offer will require removal of the tow hooks because they mount in the same space as the hooks. Since you already have a Blue Ox tow bar I recommend the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1143 so that you don't have to use any adapters.

For the wiring I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This kit will have everything you need to display your running lights, brake, and turn signals from the motorhome to your Cherokee.

You will also need a charge line kit to keep your battery charged while you tow. For this I recommend part # RM-156-25 for the vehicle side and part # RM-156-75 if your motorhome needs a line ran as well.

If you're in need of a second vehicle kit for a permanent braking system or need a completely new system then just let me know the brake type (hydraulic or air) of your motorhome and I'd be happy to pick one out for you.
